Who is Vascilis Centaro?
Vascilis Centaro was once regarded as one of the world's greatest sorcerers. For centuries, he used his intellect and mastery of magical engineering to solve complex structural and societal crises alongside his closest companion, Flor. At the height of his power, Vascilis wore the vision ball, a unique glass artifact strapped to his head that allowed him to survey the cosmos with absolute clarity and peace. Driven by a genuine desire to help others, he operated under a deep flaw: the arrogant belief that there was no problem he could not solve and no variable he could not control.
That flaw became his downfall when the occultist Molbada set out to stop the ruling elite from destroying nature. Vascilis naively insisted he could negotiate with authority and find a compromise that protected the environment without abandoning his work. Recognizing that Vascilis would never willingly walk away, Molbada engineered Flor's sudden disappearance. Stripped of the single anchor that kept him grounded, Vascilis unravelled into existential terror and panic.
While staring into the universe during his emotional collapse, Vascilis picked up a cosmic vibration from a distant, dying pulsar. Unable to realize that the sound was actually his own internal agony reflected back at him, he mistook it for a genuine cry for help. In a moment of total shock and panic, he dropped his vision ball, shattering it on the floor.
Today, Vascilis is a secluded, physically broken recluse. The rose leaves in his crown have withered into sharp thorns that press into his scalp, and his body is marked by chronic back pain and dark energy burns from his past work. Trapped in delirium, he drains his remaining life force using a single sharp shard of his broken vision ball to stare obsessively at the dying star he believes he must save. Isolated in the dark, he remains unaware that Molbada is using his fragile state to power her own agenda, with only Ojaldre, his immortal one-eyed cat, silently keeping him company in the shadows.
